Kempsville Center for BehavioralHealth, founded in 1986, is an 82 bed facility within the city of Norfolk, Virginia. Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health offers comprehensive mental health programs in Virginia. We are a Universal Health Services facility that provides psychiatrically and medically managed acute, residential treatment, and partial hospitalization for children and adolescents with significant impairments in their social and emotional development.
We provide quality care to children and adolescents in need using quality, evidence based practice treatments. We are accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC), and are licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia and The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS).
Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health is seeking dynamic and talented PRN Registered Nurses.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of
nursing care on assigned unit for residents and patients. Adheres to Nursing Standards and Policies,
Facility Policies and Procedures and the Nurse Practice Act.
Responsible for nursing care based on the nursing process and in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
Monitors, reports, and documents the residents'/patients' behavior and physiological status.
Administers medications and performs treatments/procedures in compliance with facility and nursing services, policies, and procedures.
Guides the response to patients who are behaviorally out of control or who may be experiencing a medical or behavioral crisis in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, Medical Staff with delineated privileges and Physician.
Responsible for demonstrating clinical competence in the delivery of direct patient care and the implementation of the milieu management program.
Reports accurately and concisely to oncoming shifts regarding conditions of residents both medically and psychiatrically.
