Vanderbilt University Medical Center Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Senior Director of Nursing Research . The Senior Director will facilitate nursing research and scholarly activities within Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). The Senior Director will also promote and integrate nursing research as an essential component of professional nursing practice, including clinical and administration. In addition to being a champion for Research and imbedding nursing research in all areas of the medical center, the Senior Director will hold a faculty position within the School of Nursing.
Essential Functions :
Provides leadership and direction in the development and implementation of nursing research.
Leads and directs initiatives that integrate nursing research into nursing practice through mentoring others in research and scholarly activities.
Develops methods of scientific inquiry, analytical and empirical, to enhance nursing knowledge and patient outcomes.
Leads efforts to acquire the necessary funding for research from private or public-sector sources as applicable.
Develops grant proposals for initiatives to support the development of nursing research.
Guides the evaluation of research findings in collaboration with the Nursing Research Committee to develop evidence-based nursing practice guidelines.
Disseminates research findings to the scientific community through journals and professional conferences.
Develops measurement plans to evaluate the achievement of strategies designed to enhance evidence-based practice.
Identifies opportunities and facilitates the processes for external presentations (posters and podium) and publications.
Leads the development of educational activities for the nursing staff and leaders that relate to the research process and integration of evidence into practice.
Demonstrates knowledge of institutional and departmental expectations regarding evidence-based practice competency of nursing personnel.
Leads in the design and development of innovative educational programs to meet the professional learning needs of all levels of nurses within the organization
Nursing degree (Required) - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
