Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner possesses expertise in the management of complex responses of individuals, families and communities to actual or potential health problems. The NP serves as nursing leader, consultant, researcher, educator and direct care provider. The NP within in the Nursing Leadership role provides a visible and accessible clinical presence to the health care team. As Consultant, the NP works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration or referral. As Educator, the NP educates the patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and the use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications. The NP as Researcher utilizes evidence-based medicine in clinical practice and uses research process and findings to improve nursing practice. The NP as Practitioner, effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues while administering quality patient care. The NP takes responsibility for enhancement of his/her own professional development Current NJ RN License Current NJ APN-NP Certification Masters Degree in Nursing BLS required, maintains ACLS, PALS and NRP as appropriate to specialty area Successful completion of orientation programs Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
