ChristianaCare is looking for a Physician Assistant to work in the Breast Surgeon's practice, which will assist physicians in providing patient care, this includes direct medical management through utilization of approved protocols and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assesses health status of the patients through complete physical examination and medical history. Manages care of the patients within mutually agreed upon protocols. Utilizes teaching/learning principles coupled with an expert clinical knowledge to promote and provide education to the staff, patient / family, and community. Acts as liaison for patients, families, and health professionals. Collaborates with Director and Office Manager of the Practice regarding administrative issues that require intervention and/or resolution. Coordinates select projects/programs, including development and implementation of clinical pathways, guidelines and protocols, as assigned by the Medical Director of the Practice and Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care to patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information, to identify patient needs and to provide care needed. Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors. Performs other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS: Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program Delaware license or license eligible as a Physician Assistant More than 3 years of experience as a Physician Assistant preferred Certified in BCLS, ACLS
