Serves as a Mental Health Section Chief, for the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP).The incumbent has broad managerial, supervisory, and program management responsibility for the oversight and coordination of Psychiatrists, Physicians (non-psychiatrist), BHIP Manager/Supervisors, Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Addiction Therapists, etc. assigned to deliver specialized professional services that significantly impact health care provided to veterans. Pay Scale: NF97 The incumbent will demonstrate performance and leadership as well as other duties to include, but not limited to: Responsible for managing and supervising the section's resources including staff, funds, space and equipment-utilized. Analyzes complex organizational problems and implements effective solution for those problems. Responsible for Human Resources related task, such as: employees leave, performance standards, counseling and other employee/labor issues, and training. Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships and exercises professional judgement to provide treatment for Veterans, with 10% in direct patient care. Develops, implements, and documents the treatment plan for assigned caseload of patients. Assumes complete professional responsibility for clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation.
