The Nurse Practitioner(NP) position is in the Emergency Department (ED) within the Acute Care Service Line at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS). The ED NP's functions are to provide medical emergency care to high-risk, high-volume, or problem-prone diagnoses to include: chest pain, respiratory distress, abdominal pain, urinary tract infections and psychiatric issues. The duties of the position include but are not limited to: Performing initial history and physical examinations on outpatients.
