Job Summary
Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner or Physician AssistantFunctions as a highly valued member of the multidisciplinary care team within the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health at Geisinger, where our mission is to Make Behavioral Health Easier. Serves in a primarily outpatient role or a primarily inpatient role, depending on individual interests and department needs. Both roles combine a focus on the individual patient with the goal of managing the health of a population. Primary reporting is to the respective service chief or division chief.
Job Duties
Education/Experience:
Graduate of a nurse practitioner program approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing or completion of CAAHEP – approved program for physician assistants.
Eligible or certified by AANP, ANCC for NP.
Eligible or certified by the National Commission on Certification of PA's and certified by State Board of Medicine.
NPS licensed by State Board of Nursing.
Mental health certification or willing to obtain within 2 years of hire.
*PMHNP preferred.
Experience in a professional psychiatric setting such as a psychiatric inpatient unit or psychiatric consultation or emergency service is preferred but not essential.
